2023 YMCG kicks off with brilliant performances

The 7th session of the “Youth Music Culture the Greater Bay Area (YMCG)” kicked off on February 13 and will run through February 21. The event will be held in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The opening concert was held at the Xinghai Concert Hall. Jing Huan, the permanent conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO), conducted the GSO, the Shanghai Quartet, and performers from the China Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in performances of Souvenir de Florence by Tchaikovsky and The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

During the event, more concerts, salons, and outreach cultural activities will be provided to the public, lighting up the GBA with melodies. Here are the four following concerts:

In addition, on February 16, young musicians will gather at Guangzhou’s Yuexiu Park to perform Western classical music for the public in front of the Five Rams Sculpture and at the Zhenhai Tower (Guangzhou Museum).
