Outreach

Time:2.16 9:00-12:00
Venue: Yuexiu Park / Zhenhai Tower

In its 2023 working report, the Provincial Government of Guangdong Province specifically mentioned the importance of modernization and urban renewal of old Guangzhou. Youth Music Culture Greater Bay Area (YMCG) continues to be proactive in extending its activities outside the concert hall and into the city, staying close to its citizens, helping motivate Guangzhou and its new, urban vitality.
During this year’s YMCG, outreach events will bring YMCG musicians from the Greater Bay Area into such iconic venues as the Statue of the Five Rams and Zhenhai Tower in Yuexiu Park, the places providing a panorama not only of the city but also the area’s nature and history. As Western classical music finds a way to fuse into the historical narrative dating from two millennia, old and new, East and West are connected. As a large-scale music event garnering international attention, YMCG’s foray into Yuexiu Park is an innovative gesture and a true experiment in sustaining Guangzhou’s cultural heritage.
