Chloé Dufossez, born in 1997 in France, began playing the flute at the age of seven. In 2006, she won the Jury’s Special Prize at the competition in Lempdes under Vincent Lucas, principal flutist of the Orchestre de Paris, where she subsequently studied at the CRR until 2013. She received important inspiration from masterclasses with Michel Debost, Maxence Larrieu, Felix Renggli, Andrea Lieberknecht, and Silvia Careddu, among others. Early on, she devoted herself to chamber music with her sister Julie Dufossez (clarinet); in 2010, the two performed on the Radio France program “Génération Jeunes Interprètes.”
During her studies, she won numerous national and international awards, including 3rd prize at the Maxence Larrieu International Flute Competition and 5th prize at the International Aurèle Nicolet Competition. In 2016, she completed her bachelor’s degree at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne and continued her master’s studies with Andrea Lieberknecht at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, which she successfully completed in 2019. From 2016 to 2018, she was an academy member of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and toured four times with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
Chloé Dufossez has performed with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Philharmonia Zürich, and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, as well as in France with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Opéra de Marseille, and the Opéra National de Bordeaux. In 2019, she became principal flutist of the Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier, and in 2024 she won the position of principal flutist of the Staatskapelle Berlin, which she took up in April 2025.
