
Lorenzo Antonio Iosco is an Italian clarinetist and conductor based in Hong Kong, where he is a member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
He studied at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence, where he graduated with Distinction.
He has been a member of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (Titular del Teatro Real), and London Symphony Orchestra.
He has also performed as a guest clarinetist with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Accademia
Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Opera di Roma, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice in Venice, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and London Sinfonietta. He has performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Daniele Gatti, Andris Nelsons, Esa-Pekka Salonen, André Previn, Yuri Temirkanov, Semyon Bychkov, Lorin Maazel, Jaap van Zweden, Paavo Järvi, and Myung-Whun Chung.
As a soloist, Lorenzo has performed the major clarinet repertoire across Europe and Asia. His chamber music highlights include his debut at London’s Wigmore Hall with the London Conchord Ensemble in 2013 and performing and recording Mozart’s Gran Partita with the LSO woodwind ensemble in Switzerland, Italy, and at LSO St. Luke’s in London.
Lorenzo studied orchestral conducting with Piero Bellugi in Florence, Donato Renzetti in Rome, and Jaap van Zweden at the Gstaad Academy in Switzerland.
In 2021, Lorenzo made his conducting debut with the Hong Kong Philharmonic
Orchestra, presenting the music of Italian composer Nino Rota. Since then, he has been regularly invited to lead the orchestra in various programs.
In June 2025, he was appointed Principal Conductor of Ensemble Accademia Ducale, an Italian chamber orchestra based in Basilicata, supported by the Ministry of Culture. With this ensemble, he is planning many future concerts and tours.
